Amidst the challenges of the past couple of years and navigating through a post-pandemic world, one silver lining is raising awareness of mental health challenges in the workplace, along with support.

It’s no secret that high-stress workplace conditions contribute to poor mental health, reduced performance, more sick days and other business implications. At Britannia Business Center, we believe in providing healthy, stress-free coworking spaces where our tenants can collaborate, incubate, and achieve their maximum potential while doing what they are passionate about.

Inspire Wellness Therapy is a corporation co-founded by mental health and wellness practitioners Alysha Dosanjh and Jenna Caron. Alysha Dosanjh is a Registered Provisional Psychologist, Canadian Certified Counselor, Usui Reiki Practitioner and Jenna Caron is a Registered Clinical Psychologist.  The foundation of Inspire Wellness Therapy is based on providing an holistic approach to mental health and providing psychological alternative services through a person-centered lens. Looking for fun, easy-to-make recipes to bring to your next Stampede-themed barbecue? We’ve rounded up 3 easy to make crowd-pleasing recipes to help you celebrate the Old West in our modern city.

Brisket on a Bun

To start, we recommend this pressure cooker brisket recipe

To make brisket on a bun, you’ll need:

1 tbsp olive oil
6 cups of sliced onions
Shredded beef brisket (from this recipe: https://www.atcoblueflamekitchen.com/en-ca/recipes-menus/recipes/pressure-cooker-beef-brisket.html)
1 cup barbecue sauce
6 tbsp mustard
Sliced aged cheddar & hamburger buns

Directions: Heat the oil in a frying pain over medium heat, then sauté the onions for approximately 5 minutes, until softened. Place the onions into a bowl and set aside.

Add the brisket to the frying pan, adjust heat to low and add the barbecue sauce until heated through. Add the onions and stir until combined.

Spread hamburger buns with mustard, then top with the brisket and cheddar cheese.

Slow Baked Beans

8 slices of bacon, diced
1 small red or yellow onion, diced
4 tbsp minced garlic
1 15 oz can kidney beans, drained and rinsed
1 15 oz can pinto beans, drained and rinsed
1 15 oz cannellini beans, drained and rinsed 

1/2 cup ketchup
1/3 cup barbecue sauce
1/2 cup maple syrup
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

Directions: In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon until golden brown. Remove bacon from the pan and set aside. Add the onions and sauté until softened.

In a slow cooker on high heat, add all ingredients and cook for 3 hours. 

Cowboy Caviar

1 15 oz can black beans, drained and rinsed
1 15 oz can cannellini beans, drained and rinsed
2 orange or yellow bell pepper, diced
4 Roma tomatoes, diced
1 jalapeño, finely diced
1/4 cup sweet red onion, diced
1 bunch of fresh cilantro
2 tbsp olive oil
2 tbsp fresh lime juice
1/2 tbsp balsamic vinegar
1 tsp Tex Mex chili powder
1 tsp cumin
1 tsp sea salt

Directions: In a large bowl, whisk together the olive oil, lime juice, spices and salt. Add the beans, peppers, and tomatoes and mix well. Stir in fresh cilantro.

Serve with tortilla chips or baguette.
